Steffen Kappler

Steffen Kappler is heading the global technology & innovation department for medical X-ray imaging modalities at SIEMENS Healthineers. He drives research & development in medical imaging and has expertise in radiation & particle physics, detector technology, image reconstruction, statistical data analysis, and artificial intelligence. His professional experience comprises imaging modalities such as radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, interventional imaging, and computed tomography. Steffen has particular interest in precision medicine and contributes to the digitalization of healthcare. He is author of numerous publications, holds patents, and was awarded SIEMENS Inventor of the Year in 2015. Steffen is member of the AAPM, ESR, EUSOBI, DPG and DGMP societies, co-founder and SAC member of the CERN Workshop on Medical Applications of Spectroscopic Detectors.
