FALLING WALLS FOUNDATION & BERLIN SCIENCE WEEK
OUR HISTORY
Berlin Science Week was established in 2016 against the backdrop of the international Falling Walls Science Summit. The Summit, held annually on 7-9 November, honours the year’s best scientific breakthroughs and provides a stage to discuss the solutions science offers in combating the biggest challenges of our time. With renowned scientists and global leaders from politics, business, and media in town, Berlin Science Week was established to bridge the gap between science and society, and to share the global science community’s achievements and impacts beyond the walls of the Summit.
Since then, Berlin Science Week has evolved into an extensive festival. Today, it spans over 10 days with more than 300 events, organised with 180 organisations across 120 locations throughout Berlin.
Berlin Science Week is hosted by the Falling Walls Foundation. From Female Science Talents to the Creative Bureaucracy Festival and the Falling Walls Summit, we are part of a series of impactful initiatives and projects that aim to break down barriers in science and society.
