Sergio Pérez Rosal, MD, MSc, is a pioneer in integrating traditional medical practices with innovative psychedelic-based treatments. With a robust foundation in anesthesia, intensive care, and emergency medicine, Sergio has expanded his expertise through cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy training and a master’s degree in Neuroscience and Psychology. He is a recognized leader in advocating for a comprehensive, growth-oriented approach to mental health that goes beyond symptom management, focusing on the cultivation of psychological flexibility, empathy, and purpose.
Sergio's 'Fundamentals of Health' concept integrates psychedelics, lifestyle changes, mindfulness-based interventions, and community to foster human development. Beyond clinical practice, he is instrumental in education and advocacy, developing programs for professionals to effectively use psychedelic-assisted therapy. Sergio’s work marks a significant step in integrating the best of western medical tradition with indigenous psychedelic knowledge and practices, aiming for a world where health is cultivated, not just repaired.
In addition to his clinical practice, Sergio serves as a faculty member at the Psychedelic and Consciousness Studies program at University of Ottawa, contributing to the advancements of psychedelic science through education and research.
