Joachim Spranger

Professor Dr. Joachim Spranger has been the Dean of Charité since 2023. Prior to this, starting in January 2017, he served as Vice Dean for Studies and Teaching on the Charité Faculty Board. In addition, he was a member of the Faculty Council for many years and served as the Council's spokesperson from 2015 to 2017. Since 2011, he has served as Director of the Medical Clinic for Endocrinology at the Charité Campus Mitte  and has led the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Labor Berlin – Charité Vivantes GmbH. Professor Spranger joined Charité in 2008, initially holding the W2 Heisenberg Professorship for Diabetology.
